The Community Relations Director (CRD) is intended for professionals with experience in relationship management. The CRD manages local community relationships. The CRD oversees and coordinates local philanthropy in support of corporate and community objectives, typically with limited oversight and direction. Key responsibilities include community engagement and continuous education of stakeholders on issues of importance to Warren Equipment Company. Influences outcome of issues that affect Warren Equipment Company’s image and reputation in the community.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Philanthropy

• Develop local philanthropic strategies for Warren Equipment Company for the communities we serve.
• Develop budgets and community relations programs and deploy resources.
• Develop teambuilding and volunteer activities throughout the year.
• Represent Warren Equipment Company on non-profit boards.
• Support and process corporate grants or charitable gifts.
• Manage employee matching donations including tracking donations and communication with grantees.

Measure & Amplify

• Manage all internal and external communications to elevate employee experience and further WEC’s reputation as a civic leader.
• Develop internal communications (mostly in the form of e-blasts) to employees about benefits, opportunities, and updates.
• Develop external communications including reports and promotional materials for external/ social media in collaboration with marketing team.
• Collaborate with various executives and departments, especially Marketing and Human Resources, to assess the effectiveness, opportunities, and resources needed to effectively execute initiatives.
• Communicate company ESG impact to employees and stakeholders.
• Work towards the creation of the company’s official community outreach plan.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

• Bachelors in business, communications, or another related field.
• In addition to required degree, minimum five (5) years relevant work experience.

Desired Qualifications

• 10-plus years’ experience or equivalent experience with lead responsibility for managing business and community relations.
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical/problem-solving skills.
• Base knowledge of WEC’s enterprise strategy.
• Demonstrated experience in managing relationships.
• Ability to work with minimal daily direction.
• Demonstrated conflict resolution and management skills, excellent leadership skills, and good facilitation skills all levels, both internal and external.

Travel Requirements 20-25%
