Veristor is seeking an experienced and highly detail-oriented Sales Tax Accountant to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate should be highly analytical and able to communicate clearly and effectively with peers, customers, and vendors. The Sales Tax Accountant’s primary responsibility is to prepare and file multi-state sales tax returns and annual sales and use tax returns for the organization.
Our Sales Tax Accountant position is a Hybrid role with a combination of remote work and office presence
Essential Functions
- Prepare and file 40+ monthly sales and use tax returns
- Prepare various other state returns as needed
- Maintain and reconcile sales tax account balances
- Maintain customer exemption certificates
- Resolve sales and use tax notices through written and oral communication
- Maintain business licenses in states and localities
- Monitor and coordinate domestic corporate tax notices
- Analyze expenses and accrue related sales taxes
- Prepare intercompany statements as needed
- Ensure requests for resale certificates and W-9’s are fulfilled for customers and vendors
- Assist with Tax Audits as needed
- Performing other duties and accounting related special projects
Requirements
- Working knowledge of Avatax software and the IT industry a plus
- Must have solid communication, prioritization, and organizational skills
- Experience with Financial Management processes and standards
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills is a must
- Highly detail oriented and thorough
- Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or 3-5 years equivalent accounting experience

Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
