V Shred Looking for Sr. Accountant at Remote Full Time

The Senior Accountant position is responsible for the revenue recognition cycle and reconciliation of accounts payable. This includes evaluating customer contracts, billing / invoices, and booking Journal Entries and managing revenue recognition, billing, revenue analysis and collections. Monthly reconciliation of goods received / invoice received (GR/IR).

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and/or review intercompany receivables and payables. Monthly confirmations and reconciliation with subsidiaries and affiliates.

• Initiate and resolve collections on past-due accounts by examining customer payment plans, payment history, etc.

• Responsible for revenue reconciliation and monthly closing entries.

• Reconciliation of assigned GL Accounts and Balance Sheet Accounts.

• Responsible for accounts payable reconciliation and monthly GR/IR reconciliation.

• Maintain knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Create and document standard operating procedures for revenue recognition, billing, and cash application.

• Oversee customer invoicing; work closely with Sales and Customer Service to ensure accuracy and completeness of invoices and RMAs.

• Oversee the posting of customer payments including recording cash, checks, ACH’s, and credit card transactions.

• Oversee, develop, and train AR Specialist and Staff Accountant.

• Sales & Use Tax Return Preparation

• Sales & Use Tax Resale Certificate Maintenance

• Assist AP in special projects – annual 1099 process, etc.

• Prepare monthly Warranty Reserve Calculation

• Oversight and prepare monthly accrual for BWG Customer Rebates and Royalties

• Provide outside auditors with assistance; gather necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.

• Various month end and year-end Sales and AR reports.

• Other duties as assigned

Education / Experience:

• BS/BA in Accounting; CPA a plus

• Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

• 5+ years’ experience in senior job related role showing progressive growth in responsibilities, preferred in a B2C industry

• Recent experience with an ERP system (ideally NetSuite)

• Proficiency with Excel

• Ability to work effectively in changing environments
