The Assistant Director of New Student and Family Programs will lead initiatives and events for new students and their families for the Office of Student Involvement. The Assistant Director will develop, manage, implement, and evaluate transition programs for freshmen and transfer students, with a focus on supporting the university’s strategic plan. The position assumes responsibilities for planning, coordinating, and supervising new student programming, including UMKC Parent and Family Programs, Roo Welcome (including Convocation), and other initiatives focused on integrating new students into the UMKC community. The position works closely with campus partners to develop and implement new student programming strategies. The Assistant Director represents the university to students, families, and the general public.
Additional duties include:
Position includes weekend and evening work. Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Program Manager, Student Involvement and/or Director of Student Involvement.
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired as necessary.
Full time, benefit-eligible
$48,900 – $55,000 annually commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity.
