The Transfer Operations Manager will be responsible for the daily operation of the transfer credit and transfer application processing units. The Transfer Operations Manager oversees the entry of domestic and international transcripts into DARS and evaluation of courses entered on the U.Achieve articulation tables. This in turn provides students with an evaluation of transferred coursework. This transferred credit includes coursework, military credits, and test credits such as Advanced Placement (AP) and College Level Examination Program (CLEP) awards. The Transfer Operations Manager manages three staff members and at least one student worker. This individual is also responsible for the transfer application workflows. This in turn ensures that applications are marked as complete or updated to request additional information in a timely manner and forwarded to the appropriate college offices for review.
This is a civil service position, job code 7208S1. Salary range is $26.45 – $29.81.
Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid position that is predominantly remote with onsite duties roughly once per week on the Twin Cities East Bank campus.

Supervisory Duties (45%)
* Responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the unit
* Serve as lead worker for three transfer processing staff members and one to two student workers
* Make recommendations and assist department manager in hiring of full time staff
* Hire, train, schedule and supervise transfer processing staff and student workers
* Monitor workflow queues, prioritize workload and delegate to staff. Adjust priorities as needed
* Create and maintain institutional and course tables in U.Achieve
* Create and maintain international transfer credit evaluation timelines and processes
* Establish work standards for the processing of admission documents
* Create and maintain training documentation; keeping staff informed of current business processes
* Approve vacation requests and sick leave from staff
Administrative Tasks (25%)
* Coordinate workflow of weekly work rosters to staff
* Set priorities for completion of work
* Assign daily workflow
* Provide Quality Assurance measures for transfer evaluations and transfer applications
* Coordinate customer service schedule
Cross-collaboration and cross-training efforts (25%)
* Participate in weekly meetings with other managers to ensure staffing needs are met to meet office-wide priorities
* Develop and update computer-assisted processes, guidelines, procedures or tools to aid in cross-training efforts
* Identify ways in which the unit can support other units within the Office of Admissions, including freshman application processing
Respond to direct inquiries from University advisers and from incoming or current students by phone, email and in-person (5%)
* Clarify how/if courses transfer
* Refer to appropriate departments for petition of credits
* Coordinate special/rush requests from the colleges.
Required:
* Experience serving as a lead worker for an administrative unit
* Applicants for positions in this class must possess all skills necessary to the operation of the respective office.
* Demonstrated commitment to fostering diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice in practice as part of personal growth and development
* Applicants for positions in this class should have at least four years of office service experience and/or training beyond high school. Experience should be progressively more responsible and include supervisory experience.
Preferred:
* University of Minnesota transfer application materials processing experience
* Experience and/or knowledge of Perceptive Content, PeopleSoft, Salesforce, Slate, U.Achieve
* Ability to multitask, coordinate tasks, prioritize workload for staff
* Excellent oral and written communications skills
* Attention to detail, good organizational skills
* Good interpersonal skills, with leadership experience
* Demonstrate ability to work independently and part of a diverse team
