The University of Minnesota Department of Neurology and M Health Fairview seeks an Endovascular Physician who has completed a 2-year endovascular fellowship to join our dynamic, rapidly growing team.
This position will join a network of academic physicians, fellows, residents, and APPs, providing care at our two comprehensive stroke centers, the University of Minnesota Medical Center and M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital.
This position is open to specialists from Neurology, NSGY, and Radiology. Additional non-endovascular clinical duties would be determined based upon candidate training and expertise.
Scope of Practice:
As a neurointerventionalist, the position will perform elective and emergent neuro-interventional procedures as part of a multidisciplinary endovascular surgical neuroradiology team (including Neurosurgery and Radiology) within the cerebrovascular clinical service unit which also incorporates vascular neurology, neurocritical care, and open cerebrovascular neurosurgery.
In addition to clinical responsibilities, our program emphasizes clinical education with a strong commitment to our ACGME accredited fellowships in Endovascular Surgical Neuroradiology (multidisciplinary trainees) and Vascular Neurology, and the Neurology Residency. We also have a core commitment to clinical research, including our role as an NIH StrokeNet Regional Coordinating Center.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Emergent and elective endovascular surgical neuroradiology cases, call coverage, and outpatient clinic
* Direct inpatient care for patients with stroke and other complex neurovascular and neurological conditions
* Participate in clinical research including pivotal local, national, and international trials
* Participate in QI processes that promote continuous improvement in patient care
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams throughout the continuum of care
* Additional opportunities for research and teaching may be available.
Expertise, Credentials and Qualifications:
Expertise should comprise of a medical degree and completion of a two-year endovascular surgical neuroradiology fellowship. A commitment to educating trainees and contributing to clinical research is essential.
Qualifications
* Current or eligible, unrestricted Minnesota State Medical License
* Board Certified Physician or Board Eligible Physician. If not yet certified, expectation is to acquire certification within 2 years of hire
