College of Medicine – Student Affairs:
This office supports students throughout their medical education, from recruitment, application and admission through graduation and beyond, by providing outstanding student-centered services in the core functions of admissions, counseling and wellness, student financial services, student records, student academic support, and student services, while collaborating with faculty and staff in the development and education of exemplary physicians.
The Opportunity:
The Coordinator for Student Affairs will report directly to the Assistant Director of Student Services and Service Learning and will provide professional and administrative support for major student events and programming, student organizations, and support for student services.
Responsibilities:
Assists with management of student organization processes and procedures, including funding/reimbursement for student organization activities in accordance with Student Government Association and UCF policies as well as overseeing student organization elections. Serves as liaison between student groups and the Assistant Director of Student Services. Assist with the planning of student organization events, including securing facility reservations and any audio/video or other needs through appropriate offices. Participates in training student leaders and student organization orientation. Maintains rosters of student organization members and faculty advisors, as well as other student organization records. Maintains the student organization event calendar. Expands and continually reviews student organization requirements and resources.
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Student Services, coordinate the logistical needs of major student events, including New Student Orientation, White Coat Ceremony, Match Day Ceremony, Commencement Ceremony, etc.
Provides administrative support to the Student Services area, including reviewing website on periodic basis and making changes as appropriate. Maintains current records of student service learning and extracurricular activities. Assists with the COMPASS (College of Medicine Physician Advising and Support System) program, providing scheduling assistance to advising academy leaders and tracking advising requirements. Responsible for developing and distributing the weekly Student Services newsletter.
Serves as backup and assists the credentialing liaison as needed.
Provides logistical support to other Office of Student Affairs events and programs as needed.
Other duties as assigned to include but not limited to the timely completion of university and college required trainings and updates.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s and 2+ years of relevant experience or Masters degree and 0+ years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to interact in a professional, resourceful, and courteous manner
Time-management skills; ability to effectively prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously
Service oriented with strong interpersonal skills, responsive to questions and requests
Ability to exercise good judgment, discretion, and diplomacy in both verbal and written communications
Basic computer literacy skills, data management and office software skills
