Job Summary
The HR and Education Officer (Admin Officer 3) will use skills as a seasoned and experienced professional to manage, plan and administer human resources and educational programs in support of Department of Medicine’s operations at their San Francisco VA Medical Center site.
S/he will be responsible for coordinating all academic and staff searches as well as interfacing with our fellowship program site directors and educational leadership to support health education programs. The incumbent will also assist special projects aimed at increasing visibility of UCSF and SFVA’s long established and successful partnership through website development, brochures and other media. Alongside, UCSF’s VA Director of Administration (DA) and Research Administrators (RA) at the VAMC, this position will directly support UCSF’s mission of advancing health worldwide and the VA’s mission to serve and honor America’s Veterans.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% – 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Department Description
The Department of Medicine, with annual revenues of $417 million, is the largest department in the UCSF School of Medicine. The mission of the Department is research (basic and clinical), teaching, patient care, and public service. The Department has a decentralized organizational structure across four sites (Parnassus, ZSFG, VAMC, and Mt. Zion) and 41 divisions housing 613 faculty, 160 non-faculty academics, 382 residents/fellows, 92 post-docs, and 804 staff. Authority and accountability for the Department rest with the Department Chair who heads the Parnassus and Mt. Zion sites and also directs the Vice Chairs at the ZSFG and VAMC sites.
