Position Purpose
Perform diverse engineering duties in support of the Company’s electric power delivery infrastructure and systems, including evaluating adequacy, recommending improvements, and designing and implementing modifications utilizing quantitative criteria and techniques, and optimizing safety, reliability, affordability and sustainability.
Principal Accountabilities
*Note: Time allocation and level of responsibility/authority commensurate with assigned title and grade
30%-50% Analyze and evaluate the adequacy and performance of the electric power delivery infrastructure and systems within areas of assignment. Specify and recommend improvements and alternatives. Design and implement modifications.
15%-30% Execute project management responsibilities within areas of assignment, including scoping, funding, scheduling, directing procurement, coordinating construction or deployment, and affirming results.
10%-20% Research and interpret existing and emerging industry standards, regulations, knowledge and practices within areas of assignment. Evaluate applicability and impact with respect to compliance and conformity. Develop and implement solutions. Engage with industry peers, service providers, related agencies, etc.
10%-20% Develop and maintain documentation of systems and equipment, engineering practices, application guidelines, design criteria, operating procedures, etc. Support the maintenance of technical drawings.
10%-20% Provide hands-on operation and maintenance of technical systems within areas of assignment, and provide technical support to others. Promote positive working relationships and provide the highest level of service to internal and external customers.
Minimum Qualifications
• Engineer position: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
• Technician position: Associate degree in Engineering Technology, or other relevant curriculum.
• Specialist position: extensive experience in the design and construction of electric utility infrastructure or the specification and evaluation of electric power equipment or control systems.
• Excellent technical aptitude, effective problem-solving skills, and proficiency with PC-based applications.
