United for Respect (UFR) and United for Respect Education Fund (UFREF) is a national organization building an industry voice of people working for the country’s largest corporations. Through scaled leadership development and base-building, UFR’s growing network is challenging major corporations and policymakers to provide family‐sustaining jobs for all working people. We leverage technology — social media, relational tools, and our digital platform, WorkIt — and bring the workforce into a shared community of support and advocacy.
UFR is currently seeking a Digital Campaigner. Reporting to the Deputy Digital Director, the Digital Campaigner executes UFR’s digital strategy to connect UFR’s work with our members and supporters, generating online actions and donations, funneling users up a ladder of engagement across the digital spectrum. You will be embedded within UFR’s programs, and will be their guide to how digital strategy can supplement their plans and help them reach their goals.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Advancing worker justice by engaging our existing and potential online community through organizing and fundraising strategies in close coordination with digital, organizing, comms and development teams
Project managing digital and online to offline campaigns from campaign conception to content creation to execution
Designing & creating storytelling-focused content from a worker’s voice, to engage both workers and allies, including but not limited to: email writing, web content, graphic design, social media organic and paid content, SMS and peer-to-peer texting
Coding emails and website updates with basic HTML and minimal CSS
Executing list acquisition strategies designed to boost digital engagement, onboarding current and former retail employees as well as supporters and potential donors
Identifying organizer prospects; coordinating with the organizing team to ensure priority contacts are escalated through peer-to-peer texting in a timely manner in order to ensure online activity translates to offline grassroots action
Run regular tests on email, social, website, and acquisition strategies to identify the hardest-hitting, best-performing techniques and strategies that cut through the noise
Report out on digital results, providing metrics and analyzing what they mean for next steps & future campaigns
Maintain a digital content calendar tracking upcoming dates, actions, and compression moments to drive digital strategy
Additional digital campaigning responsibilities as assigned
What You’ll Bring:
Strong motivation and a passion for transforming the lives of working people in retail and low-wage jobs
Minimum experience of 1-3 years of digital experience, preferably through a progressivie digital organizing, labor, or nonprofit lens
You are extremely detail-oriented and like creating and holding teams to a process
You like nerding out on spreadsheets, analyzing charts and graphs, and tracking digital engagement metrics to evaluate and improve campaigns
You like graphic design and have an eye for what catches people’s attention on the internet
A demonstrated ability to use storytelling and persuasive writing to explain complex legislative and corporate details
The ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines and managing multiple projects
Organizing experience a plus

Salary range: $55,000-65,000 dependent on experience and location
