DESCRIPTION
Under the supervision of the Custodial Supervisor this person is responsible for participating in the cleaning and upkeep of the dining areas of the Price Center and Student Center facilities managed by University Centers.
Primary duties include the removal of trash/recycling, sweeping and mopping of floors, wiping down dining furniture and counters, and ensuring overall cleanliness.
In addition, as needed this position will support the custodial team with general custodial duties to include restroom cleaning, window cleaning and floor care cleaning.
This position will be on the swing shift supporting the evening dining activities within UCSD Price Center.
Working the evening shift does pay an extra .67 cents per hour.
QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated experience performing skilled custodial duties.
Demonstrated experience operating, storing, and maintaining the following equipment: vacuums, buffers, wet/dry vacuums, rotary carpet shampooers, steam extractors, high-pressure washers.
Demonstrated experience in floor care; stripping, waxing, and bufffing.
Demonstrated experience in carpet care; spot cleaning, spin bonneteting, shampooing, and extracting.
Demonstrated experience securing facilities, including responsibility for keys.
Ability to read and interpret written information and instructions, including daily operations reports which are integral in performing reservable space cleaning.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to prepare written reports and complete forms.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills to effectively work with a diverse group of students, staff, faculty, and customers.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
Regular work schedule is 4:30 pm to 12:00am, Monday through Friday.
Must work occasional flexible, variable hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
Must have a valid California driver’s license
Background check required.
Must use proper safety gear as necessary
Must be able to safely lift, move, carry, push and pull a minimum of 75 lbs.
Mandated Reporter: This position has been identified as a Mandated Reporter pursuant to the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and requires immediate reporting of physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, or neglect of anyone under the age of 18. It is the responsibility of the Mandated Reporter to ensure that they obtain proper training in order to fulfill their reporting responsibilities as required by the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and University policy, and to complete and submit the required reports to the UC San Diego Police Department without delay.

Pay Transparency Act Full Salary Range: $39,463 – $49,068 Annually
