Legal Intake/Investigator Position

Tyrone Glover Law, LLC is a civil rights and criminal defense law firm committed to advancing equality under the law. Integral to our mission is centering client voices and the experiences of marginalized people as we challenge injustices under the law.

We are hiring a Legal Intake/Investigator who will be handling initial intake calls and potentially some intake investigation.

We would love to work with someone who is organized, discerning, and shares in our passion for the firm’s mission and values. The ideal candidate will have experience (lived or professional) working with trauma-affected or marginalized communities, and have some experience or familiarity with legal intakes, legal investigation, law firms, or civil rights issues.

This position is hourly with an anticipated 10 hours a week. It will be a hybrid/mostly remote or completely remote work schedule. The candidate must have their own cell phone and private work area where they can take phone calls while maintaining client confidentiality, along with a laptop/computer with reliable internet access for remote work.

Responsibilities:

• Calling individuals who submit an intake request and discussing their potential legal case;
• Discerning key facts for potential legal claims;
• Completing an intake writeup summarizing the relevant facts and potential issues;
• Corresponding with attorneys to discuss intake writeups and any next steps;
• Sending follow up correspondence to potential clients;
• At times, investigating unknown facts that are relevant to determining whether the law firm can take the case. This may include follow up conversations with the potential client, sending a release of information, or sending records requests to appropriate agencies.

Knowledge/Skills/Requirements

The ideal candidate will have experience (lived or professional) working with trauma-affected or marginalized communities, and have some experience or familiarity with legal intakes, legal investigation, law firms, or civil rights issues. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have:

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour
