Trident Maritime Systems-Heavy Equipment Group looking for Engineering Manager at Full Time

PLANT/DEPARTMENT:      Defense Engineering                DIRECTED BY:  Director of Engineering
                                                          
IMPORTANT WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:   Engineers, Drafters, Designers, Program Managers, other Engineering Managers, Plant Management

DIRECTS:      Sr. Project Engineers, Project Engineers, Design Engineers, Designers, Drafters 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:    Provide leadership and direction to the engineering staff.                     

MAJOR DUTIES:

1. Ensure that manufacturability and technical requirements are met for products.
2. Support bid and proposal efforts with concept designs and cost estimates.
3. Manage resources within the department to meet schedule requirements.
4. Develop competence and skills of the engineering staff.
5. Maintain cooperative relationships with customer’s technical staff.
6. Monitor project status and take corrective actions when variances occur.
7. Update engineering EAC and backlog schedules as required for financial reporting.
8. Identify and recommend innovations in products, services and information that expand reach of the business unit in the marketplace.
9. Lead efforts to ensure that customer technical requirements are met over full life cycle of equipment.
10. Ensure compliance with ISO procedures and standards.
11. Maintain the accuracy and validity of engineering standards and applicable ISO procedures.
12. Continually analyze and monitor designs for efficiency, cost reduction enhancements and lean initiatives.
13. Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED/SPECIAL NOTES:

• 5 years management of technical staff in product environment.
