Total Wine & More Looking for Director, Logistics at Washington DC, DC Full Time

We are looking for a Director Logistics to join our Supply Chain team and work at our corporate office in Bethesda, Maryland. This is not a remote work opportunity. You will lead our Outbound Transportation function, responsible for deliveries into our stores across the country. You will have daily contact with Stores Operations, carriers, 3PL warehouses. As part of an ongoing network design initiative, you will help shape our future supply chain. You will report to the VP of Supply Chain.

You will

• Lead a team of logistic professionals to facilitate the flow of goods through the supply chain
• Lead efforts to increase service levels to stores
• Negotiate best cost/service for logistics needs
• Manage carrier relationships and performance
• Manage deliveries and provide excellent customer service
• Provide excellent customer service to internal stakeholders
• Work with multiple departments on initiatives and new projects
• Own creation of metrics and KPIs
• Own execution of Logistics strategy
• Drive continuous improvement within functional efforts

You will come with

• A Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of experience in logistics operations over multiple modes
• 5+ years of experience managing time sensitive deliveries
• 8+ years of experience in leadership roles
• Deep functional expertise across multiples modes of Transportation
• Passion for people leadership
• Retail Supply Chain experience preferred
