The Partners Group in Portland currently has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced consultant to join our Group Physician Advisory Services (GPAS) team, a highly specialized consulting team which works on large, complex medical group clients.

How you will have an impact at TPG:

The primary role of a Consultant on this experienced and specialized team is helping to create solutions around clients’ complex business problems and challenges to help them execute their benefit priorities. You are a partner who solves problems by teaming with clients, insurance carrier partners, and TPG Account managers.

What a typical day in this role looks like:

• Attend client meetings to discuss benefits strategy and provide recommendations based on the client’s needs and available options.
• Analyze employee data and demographics to create customized benefit packages that align with the client’s goals and budget.
• Coordinate with benefit plan providers and insurance carriers to negotiate and compare pricing and coverage options.
• Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Conducting reviews and audits of benefits plans to evaluate their effectiveness and recommend adjustments or alternatives to enhance employee satisfaction and cost efficiency.
• Stay informed about new benefits and wellness programs that can be offered to clients to enhance employee satisfaction and attract and retain talent.

Key details

Location: Portland, OR; in-office with hybrid-remote opportunities

Hours: 40 hours/week, Mon-Fri

Compensation: $150,000 – $200,000 annually, DOE (commission-based)

Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for extended periods of time, ability to communicate verbally and in writing, and ability to handle long periods of screen time.

Travel: Some local and regional travel is expected.

What you’ll bring to the table:

• A B.A. or B.S. degree preferred, but at a minimum, a High School diploma or equivalent (required)
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Benefits Consultant or 7 years as a Carrier Sales Representative with a strong Life Insurance, Disability, and Dental background (required). Other combinations of work and/or education will be considered.
• An active Life & Health Insurance agent or consultant license (required)
• Excellent customer relations providing prompt, accurate, and friendly client service
• Clear, concise communication to build and maintain strong client relationships
• Ability to write reports and effectively present information
• A high level of accountability and the ability to handle multiple client requests under tight deadlines
• Self-sufficiency and ability to work independently, as well as in team settings
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• A hungry, humble, and people-smart approach to working as part of a dynamic team.
• Strong proficiencies in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Salesforce software
