Job Description
The Supervisor position supports the Program Manager for one of the Department of Teaching and Learning’s certification and licensure/non-licensure programs (ECE/Child/Youth Studies/MCE/AYA). The position serves as a primary resource for 10 to 25 students within the program over the course of one to two semesters. This includes identifying opportunities for students to engage teachers and mentors within schools across Greater Columbus, multiple placement visits (approx. 4 per intern) throughout the course of the semester to ensure student development and progress is in line with program goals and expectations, and maintaining pro-active, transparent communication with teacher mentors to ensure supervisors and program managers are aware of student progress. Additionally, supervisors will lead a maximum of 10 recitations with students to focus on areas relevant to the program that benefit overall student development. Supervisors meet with Program Managers on a regular basis to discuss the status of each student and are responsible for grading student assignments in a timely, organized manner
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor’s Level Degree
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in appropriate area or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Knowledge of program subject matter, either through college coursework or experience. If the program is leading to a license, the position may require a licensed teacher.
Desired Experience: Experience in the organization of volunteers and program materials is desirable.
