Director of Marketing

Based in Reston, Virginia, we are a financial planning and investment advisory firm serving high net worth and Fortune 500 corporate-sponsored financial planning clients, as well as foundations, endowments, and institutional clients nationwide.  We are seeking a talented Director of Marketing to join our growing team.  This position reports to the Chief Marketing and Development Officer.

The Director of Marketing (DM) will be responsible for all marketing initiatives for both Mason’s private client and institutional client practices.  Mason has engaged a third-party marketing firm to help with marketing strategy, design, and execution of all facets of Mason’s marketing activities.  The DM will collaborate with the outside marketing agency and act as the main point of contact between the agency and Mason.  The DM will also collaborate with Mason’s other marketing and development staff and client-facing advisors to ensure that marketing materials and firm initiatives are impactful. 

In this role, the DM will work to develop, execute, monitor, and manage marketing campaigns across multiple mediums to drive brand awareness, generate leads, and create opportunities for Mason’s institutional and private client sales teams.  As Mason works to extend its brand and build on its client base, Mason plans to aggressively engage in multiple marketing channels and activities in areas including but not limited to:

• Core collateral materials, website content, email marketing, brochures, videos, industry surveys, social media channels, newsletters, press releases, events/webinars, white papers, trade shows, direct mail marketing, and other ad hoc initiatives

Qualifications (necessary skills and experience required)

• BS in Marketing or Finance
• 7-10 years of investment industry marketing experience
• Excellent communication and writing skills
• Solid grasp of traditional and emerging marketing channels
• Ability to think creatively and innovatively
• Graphic and web design experience and familiarity with design platforms
• Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher
