GENERAL DUTIES
Completes non-teaching projects or complex work in support of a Campus or University administrative or academic department. This work is generally of a temporary nature and requires specialized experience or expertise.

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION
The Office of Human Resources (HR) at the City College of New York invites applications for three (3) Human Resources Assistants. The positions are part-time offering up to 225 hours per semester for Fall/Spring term, 75 hours per Winter term and 175 hours per Summer term.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Review of employee records to determine eligibility for leaves. Communicate employee leave eligibility status with employees and interested parties.
Prepare and finalize HEO screening packets for various actions and manage process for HEO screening committee; communicate results to departments and ensure approved actions are prepared and transmitted to CUNY for approval; prepare and send out relevant letters
Prepare Central Office transmittals for appointment, substitute appointments, reclassifications, and other relevant actions, etc.
Work with Data Analyst to ensure actions are entered into CUNYfirst and submitted to PayrollSOS for processing
Advise Divisions/Departments on CCNY/CUNY policies and procedures for employmentactions and related inquires
Coordinate recruitment and onboarding processes including job postings in the CUNY Talent Acquisition Management module, advertise postings in external job boards, in collaboration with departments, the Provosts Office and the Office of Diversity and Compliance in accordance with the union contracts and CUNY guidelines
Schedule and conduct onboarding meetings with new hiresincluding 30, 60, and 90-day check-ins. Review all new hire paperwork to ensure accuracy and completeness. Confirm employment eligibility and degree credentials using Degree Verify
Maintain tracking sheets for academic leaves and recruitment & onboarding
Other related duties as required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree required.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Qualifications:
1- 2 years of HR experience
Higher Education experience
Please note:
Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. COMPENSATION
$46.49 to 57.85 per hour
