Job Description: Looking for an individual with management experience to head the Accounting Team to create a strong foundation for success and sustained growth.

Responsibilities: – Establishing and documenting efficient workflow processes, optimizing client files using the latest available technology, monitoring the profitability and efficiency of client files, mentoring the accounting team and reviewing files for accuracy, setting and ensuring goals are met, training staff on more complex files, scheduling client work, ensuring accounting files are kept up to date and deadlines are met, being a point of contact for clients and delivering reports in a timely matter where required, contacting clients to follow up on requested documentation required for staff to complete their work, reporting to management on files ready for invoicing, the completion of individual, small business and corporate tax returns. Other duties as needed.

Skills and attributes for success:

• Self-motivated, enthusiastic self-starter
• Robust organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities
• Demonstrate high level of ownership, accountability and attention to detail
• Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements
• Proficient with technology (we use: Monday.com, Plooto, Dext, QBO, MS365, iFirm, etc.)

Experience:

• Canadian Individual Tax Return preparation – 2 years
• Canadian Small Business Tax Return preparation – 2 years
• Canadian Corporate Tax Return preparation – 2 years
• U.S. Individual Tax Return preparation (Considered an asset but not a requirement)
• Quickbooks Online – 1 year

Qualifications:

• CPA or CA designation
• An undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting and or other appropriate academic major

Salary: $70,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
