The Failure Analysis Team’s mission is to determine root
cause and contributing factors to improve the experience of Tesla’s products by
reducing field issues, in collaboration with large cross-section of other
engineering teams. Engineers and Technicians on the team are responsible for a
wide variety of vehicle and energy product systems for existing models and
models in development. This extremely high visibility individual contributor
role requires extensive hands-on work focused on failure analysis and root
cause activities.
We are seeing a skilled electrical engineer who will be
responsible for all aspects of identifying and characterizing failures on our low
voltage electronics. The successful candidate would work directly with the original
design engineers and other failure analysis engineer to complete failure
analysis and propose countermeasures. This role will primarily focus on low
voltage electrical systems including infotainment, vehicle controllers, and
autopilot electronics.
A successful candidate will need to become intimately
familiar with the detailed behaviors and system level interactions of these
components. They will work with all manner of electrical test equipment to
recreate and identify failures observed in engineering, production, and field
environments. He/She will work cross functionally with other engineers and
management to report root cause, investigation status and other relevant information.

$72,000 – $258,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
