Tesla is currently seeking a motivated and accomplished CAD tech
who will be the subject matter expert leading CAD design and layout creation for
the factory planning team.
The factory planning team is responsible for developing design
which supports seamless integration between production, operations, material
flow, construction, and facilities teams. Innovation is expected. Through a
detailed understanding of the high-level objectives and extensive collaboration
with the internal and external teams designing individual facility components,
this team ensures that the overall facilities master plan achieves all of
Tesla’s objectives.
As
the factory planning CAD tech, you will own project level factory layouts,
while also developing individual assembly layouts with stakeholders, creating
technical drawings of equipment assemblies, owning bill-of-materials, creating
layouts from field measurements, and maintaining change-management. The ideal
candidate will excel in a demanding and fast-paced environment where they will
work as part of a strong, agile, and highly motivated team to accomplish some
of the most ambitious projects being attempted in any industry today. He/She
takes pride in his/her thoroughness, analytical ability, organizational skills,
and attention to detail. The candidate will be able to think at a systems level
about ambiguous problems and use strong logic and computation to develop layout
strategies. A successful applicant will have the ability to analyze a problem
using a first principles approach, work with stakeholders to collect impacts,
and synthesize recommendations in a concise, cohesive manner.

$21.24 – $58.86/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
