POSITION PURPOSE:
Responsible for the management and oversight of projects and manpower associated with civil project operations at the TVA fossil plants, switchyards, and dams. Will also be responsible for the assessment of the overall program in meeting customer needs. Responsibilities include: oversight, evaluation, and improvement of Civil Project operations; manage the development, approval, and implementation of Civil Project related capital and O&M; make decisions on the budgeting and prioritization of multiple activities for multiple sites to accomplish TVA corporate strategies; and in providing technical expertise and management support for the TVA fossil plants, switchyards, and dams to implement corrective actions as needed to avoid impacts to personnel and equipment safety, plant operations, or environmental violations due to Civil Project operational issues. Other projects may be performed on an as needed basis.
JOB DIMENSIONS:
Supervisory Responsibility – Supervision of the general contractors performing general construction activities, in addition to onsite TVA personnel and staff augmented contractors performing civil project tasks.
Budget Responsibility – Management of project cost, change control, schedule, and performance initiatives.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience – B.S. degree in a technical field of study; or equivalent training and / or experience in Civil Construction to include CCR or Dam rehabilitation projects.
Heavy experience in civil construction preferred. Knowledge of OSHA environmental regulatory experience preferred. Surveying AutoCAD preferred.
Certification/License, etc – None
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities – Must have good heavy equipment knowledge, and experience on civil projects and activities. Must have supervisory / leadership skills.
Must be able to assume “on-call” rotational assignments which may include 24 hour-a-day, 7 day-a-week availability. Must be able to work required overtime during peak periods. Must be able to travel to CPG project locations as required when performing assigned tasks. Candidate may be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance based on position / access requirements and essential job functions.
