We are seeking an Applications Development Engineer for our Advanced Development Center in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
Essential Job Functions:
Performs research, testing, data gathering, measurements, or engineering analysis in an office, laboratory or manufacturing environment. Incumbents routinely handle complex engineering assignments and participate as strong contributors on cross-functional teams.
Performs engineering support on complex projects or technical assignments.
Required to lead projects or assignments of significant scope without supervision unless issues require escalation to a management level. Designs tests or experiments to support project targets.
Work with the team to develop processes, tune-in equipment and tooling.
Establish process controls, assist in training of new projects.
Assist with training of both technical and production in processing standards and minimizing startup costs.
Review mold and secondary fixture design and make recommendations.
Develop workflows, effective layout and optimize processes.
Track tooling at tool shops
Develop tooling for new processes.
Work with both thermoset and Thermoplastics.
Independently experiments, compiles data and analyzes results. Makes recommendations for project or team review.
Run Testing and analysis and develop testing procedures.
Requirements:
Requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Science. BSME is recommended.
A minimum of two years of related work experience required in an engineering, automotive, or manufacturing environment.
Work experience from an automotive Tier I supplier is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of project management techniques and working with programs / Materials from concept to production.
Knowledge of automotive industry standards and procedures strongly preferred.
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Access, Project, Word, and PowerPoint.
