KARE-11 Technology/Operations Department has an immediate opening for a Technology Specialist. The primary responsibilities for this position are desktop computer assistance relating to operational and hardware issues, software applications, and problem solving. KARE-11 is a leading news content provider engaged in the community to provide news and information for our customers. KARE operates a friendly collaborative diverse environment and is focused on keeping our content providers working seamlessly every day. The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications and abilities.
Responsibilities:
- Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to prioritize.
- Able to work alone and handle desktop I.T. support for users
- Able to troubleshoot basic networking issues
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot end user hardware, software applications including all Microsoft Office products.
- Experience and understanding of databases and database software.
- Ability to work independently on assignments and research solutions as needed. Report progress and maintain up to date documentation.
- Familiarity with configuring/troubleshooting windows server and or Unix/Linux is a plus.

- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Minimum 1-3 years I.T. support experience
- A.A.S. in electronics or computer technology/science preferred.
- Demonstrated I.T. experience with basic server, networking topology and operating systems, windows and Mac.
- Experience with the following is a plus. Networking, database, office 365, FTP, video file management, active directory, computer hardware service, and printer support.
- Ability to change priorities and handle last minute “urgent” assignments and changes.
- Flexible work schedule
- Travel: Rarely: less than 10%
- Work Environment Set: Office: normally performed in a typical interior/office environment
- Physical Demands Set: Light work: Involves sitting most of the time, walking, lifting, bending, standing, etc.
