Tanaq Environmental LLC Looking for Staff Environmental Engineer at Remote Full Time

Position Summary
Tanaq Environmental is seeking a Staff Environmental Engineer to support environmental restoration and compliance projects for US Government and commercial clients. This position will support remedial investigation, remedial design, and remedial actions for contaminated sites located throughout the US. The job requires an understanding of basic environmental investigation and remediation concepts and ability to monitor construction contractors to ensure performance of work in accordance with environmental and contractual requirements. The job may also require field oversight of contractors and/or inhouse field crews conducting site investigations and/or remediation of soils, groundwater, surface water, or sediments at petroleum- and hazardous-waste sites.
Responsibilities

• Engineering support of environmental compliance and/or remediation projects, including preparation of planning documents, reports, designs, and contract documents.
• Design support for remedial processes to address petroleum- or hazardous-waste sites, working under supervision of a Project Engineer.
• Preparation of subcontractor scopes of work and specifications.
• Solicitation, evaluation, and procurement of subcontractors for investigation or remediation projects.
• Oversight and supervision of environmental cleanup contractors.
• Evaluation of contractor performance in accordance with approved plans.
• Field collection of environmental samples (groundwater, surface water, soil, sediment, soil vapors, and ambient air sampling).
• Field team leadership.
• Travel to potentially contaminated sites throughout US to support a wide variety of field activities and contractor oversight.
• Cost estimating and preparation of technical approaches in support of proposals for environmental restoration projects.

. Requirements: Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
• Demonstrated experience in the application of civil and/or environmental engineering principals.
• Strong commitment to site safety and adherence to safety plans.
• Prior experience working on environmental restoration projects is preferred.
• Prior experience working for Department of Defense (DoD) clients preferred.
• Experience with per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PRAS) contamination preferred.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite software (including Outlook, Word, and Excel).
• Excellent verbal communication and writing skills with strong attention to detail. Must be a good writer.
• Organizational skills and ability to plan and execute multiple tasks.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to execute multiple assignments at various locations, providing a consistently high level of quality and accuracy.
• Professional demeanor with a positive, solution-seeking attitude and personal responsibility.
• Current driver’s license, safe driving record, ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, and physical ability to lift at least 30 pounds (required for environmental sample collection and shipping).

Education and Training

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited institution; Master’s Degree preferred.
• 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training with current annual 8-hour update is a plus; training may be provided for otherwise qualified applicants as required.
• Must have Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) license obtained from the National Society of Professional Engineers member state or equivalent.

Minimum Salary: USD $50,000/Yr. Maximum Salary: USD $75,000/Yr. Salary Note: The compensation information listed is a good faith estimate for this position only and is provided pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and Equal Pay Transparency Rules. It is estimated based on what a successful Colorado applicant might be paid. It assumes that the successful candidate will be in Colorado or perform the position from Colorado. Similar positions located outside of Colorado will not necessarily receive the same compensation.
