SPA’s Sea Land Air (SLA) Division supports a diverse portfolio of national security government clients, including the Undersea Enterprise, the Navy Surface Community, the Navy MPTE Enterprise, the Army, DoD Agencies, DARPA, OSD, international clients including the Canadian Navy and Australian Defense Force. Our primary objective is to provide timely, objective, and analytic assessments that integrate the policy, operational, technical, programmatic and acquisition aspects of our clients’ challenges. Leveraging both in-domain and cross-domain expertise to maximize our clients’ success, SLA Division acts as trusted agents to senior decision-makers and key leaders and excels at providing data driven analytic insights, systems engineering, strategies and plans that address current and emerging challenges to national security.
The Naval Surface Analysis Group (NSWAG), within SLA Division, focuses primarily on providing analytic and program support to the Surface Warfare component of the United States Navy, enabling enhanced decision-making regarding the allocation of resources to improve operational capabilities. This support includes personnel, manpower, and training support to OPNAV N1.
SPA has a near term need for a Modeling and Simulation Planner, who will support Naval Warfare Development Center (NWDC) Maritime Operation Center (MOC) Training Team.
Responsibilities
The candidate will assist NWDC in the execution of the MOC training and certification mission within the framework of the Chief of Naval Operatons (CNO) directed MOC training continuum. The MOC training continuum consists of planning conferences, Tailored Assist Visits (TAVs), sustainment training events (STEs), major training events (MTEs), and in the case of certification a Performance Observation Event (POE). This training continuum supports a three-year certification periodicity for every MOC except C5F which is on a two-year cycle. Major Training Events (MTEs), and in the case of certification a Performance Observation Events (POE) are normally supported by the full Navy Maritime Operations Center Training Exercise Team (MOCTET). This also includes support to Reserve Forces (RESFOR) in planning and execution of exercises to enhance overall MOC training and proficiency. The MOCTET shall provide a persistent operational level training capability to assist MOC staffs in forming, organizing, developing (man, train, equip), achieving proficiency in Operational Level of War (OLW) exercise and real-world operational execution, and sustaining capability/readiness in a disciplined and uniform manner.
