IT Manager position

Whilst employed by Synergy associates you will be permanently on secondment to our client, managing their day to day IT needs and managing their infrastructure.

Synergy Associates is an International IT Managed Services Provider (MSP), with offices in London, New York, LA, Dubai, Paris, Singapore and Hong Kong. We focus on delivering a premium service to some of the world’s most discerning clients.

Location:

This is a hybrid role requiring you work from home but also travel to three offices in the LA area.

Working pattern:

The successful candidate will work regular weekly hours from Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm. The candidate will need to be flexible depending on team requirements, hours may change slightly from week to week.

Reporting to:
Global Operations Director

As the IT Manager you will.

Ensure the smooth running of the client systems and services, including regular on-site maintenance, remote maintenance, onboarding and offboarding staff and technical projects. Working closely with the client you will oversee technical service delivery ensuring unrivalled customer service. You will work hard to build a close working relationship with the client.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the smooth running of client systems and services.
• Design and implement systems and processes to ensure IT runs optimally and efficiently
• Maintain best in class documentation using provided tools.
• Ensure data integrity and backups are run and monitored
• Consult and implement on the technical setup of the clients new building project.

Essential Skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of SLA and KPI terminology and how they apply in the context of a managed IT service provider.
• Calm under pressure with the ability to manage conflicting priorities.
• Equally happy to work as part of a team, as well as individually where necessary.
• Self-motivated to find solutions to customer issues under guidance from senior members of the team.

Experience:
2 years working in a customer focused IT role, such as a service desk, or technical support function. Some management experience is essential. Experience in an MSP environment is desirable.

Education:
Relevant degree or qualified through equivalent experience.

Technology:

Good understanding of a wide range of end user devices and operating systems including (but not limited to):

• Apple Mac, iOS
• JAMF or other MDM application
• Google Workspace administration
• PCs, tablets and mobile devices.
• Microsoft Windows
• Understanding of enterprise Microsoft technology such as Active Directory, file and print services and domain administration.
• Knowledge of backup and restore procedures.
• Knowledge of cloud office productivity suite administration (Office 365, Google Cloud etc).

Customer:

• Ability to liaise with customers at every level of an organisation.
• Outstanding customer service skills, demonstrating ability to empathise with a wide range of clients across diverse industries and technical proficiency.
• Ability to build relationships with internal and external customers and stakeholders.
• Passion for understanding how technology affects customer operations.

Desirable skills and qualifications:

• Microsoft or Cisco certifications. E.g. MCSA, CCNA.
• Experience providing support for Apple products including Mac, iPhone and iPad.
• Experience using and troubleshooting Hyper V.
• Degree in IT, Computer Science or relevant field.
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud suite.
• Powershell scripting knowledge.
• VOIP configuration and troubleshooting skills.
• Virtualised desktop (VMware/Parallels).
• Experience with Helpdesk ticketing systems (e.g. ZenDesk, Autotask, ConnectWise).
• Cisco Meraki administration skills.
• Proficiency in additional languages.
