Summer Classics Inc Looking for Logistics Manager at Pelham, AL Full Time

Are you an independent and persuasive individual with a strong background in logistics? Do you enjoy being thorough and driving priorities and meeting deadlines? We are seeking a Logistics Manager for our Pelham, AL facility. The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing logistics activities and schedules in the coordination of shipment and routing and supervising the staff in the Traffic Office.
What You Do:

• Leads the team in the logistics office and holds overall responsibility for logistics performance.
• Communicates with transportation vendors and carriers.
• Develops transportation strategy for inbound and outbound freight domestically and internationally.
• Develops and tracks transportation metrics and reports to Company.
• Negotiates yearly inbound and outbound freight pricing with vendors.
• Creates freight factors for costing teams.
• Ensures adherence to customs import/export compliance.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You Bring:

• High school diploma or equivalent required with some college preferred
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in transportation or logistics required
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in negotiating prices required
• Knowledge of DOT and CBP compliance and regulations
• Mathematical analysis skills required for transportation scenarios
• Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills required
• Advanced knowledge of MS Outlook, Excel and Word required
• SYSPRO or related ERP system experience preferred
