Stericycle Inc Looking for Cash Application Supervisor at Bannockburn, IL  Full Time

Under direction, supervises the Cash Applications function and hourly staff, ensuring timely and accurate posting of payments to customer accounts. Responsible for monitoring the daily operations of the Cash Applications team, including various streams of customer payments, refunds and unapplied cash. Provides work direction and technical expertise to the Cash Applications staff.

Key Job Activities:

• Responsible for overseeing staff training, team/individual development, hiring, terminations, performance reviews and salary administration.
• Reviews weekly and month-end Cash Applications reconciliations and reporting.
• Ensures staff is properly trained and understands company policies and procedures as well as SOX regulations.
• Responsible in participating in projects, initiatives and audits involving Cash Application.
• Develop and prepare weekly/month metrics to achieve departmental expectations for productivity, quality and goal accomplishment. Utilize metrics to improve team performance.
• Assist and work cooperatively with other teams handling escalated, more complex customer issues, providing timely and accurate feedback on resolution. 
• Identifies and implements process improvements to increase productivity and accuracy. 
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Experience:

• Education equivalent to an Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred, or the equivalent in related work experience, demonstrating a good knowledge of accounting practices.
• Two or more years of accounting/finance experience required, demonstrating a good knowledge of accounts receivable procedures and various automated accounting systems.  Previous supervisory experience a plus. 
• Demonstrates a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrates the ability to present information in a clear, concise, and organized manner; listen to others to obtain information. 
• Demonstrates the ability to gather and analyze facts and data, and draw correct inferences from the information; weighs alternatives and presents logical solutions to problems. 
• Demonstrates the ability to plan and supervise the work of others.
• Demonstrates the ability to provide direction and instruction on action plans to meet performance goals and objectives; gives specific feedback on performance; provides support, and follows up.
