Buildings & General Services (BGS) at the State of Vermont has an exciting opportunity with room for growth as a Custodian II. This position will be part of a team responsible for daily custodial duties for several facilities such as the Colchester Health Lab, Zampieri State Office building, Williston State Police Barracks, and more. Travel between facilities will be required with either a state owned or personally owned vehicle. Your primary responsibilities would be performed at the Williston State Police Barracks. This position requires a driver’s license and successful completion of multiple background checks.
This is a full-time position and the hours are Monday through Friday 11:30am to 8:00pm.

Duties are performed during an assigned shift at one or more state owned or leased buildings. Cleaning work often involves addressing bloodborne pathogens and other potentially infections material. Incumbents must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather. Good physical condition and ability to climb ladders and lift weights of up to 50-lbs. is necessary. Overtime and evening work may be required.
One (1) year or more of building custodial work that includes floor maintenance tasks such as stripping and waxing floors and carpet extraction.
OR
One (1) year as a BGS Custodian I.
Some positions in this class require a valid driver’s license and own transportation for travel between work locations.
Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position.
