Stage 1 Financial Looking for Senior Income Tax Accountant – Remote at Portland, OR Full Time

Stage 1 Financial LLC is pioneering the rise of a new industry, fully outsourcing the operational finance and accounting services for fast growing brands. We have experienced explosive growth in the past several years, currently working with over a hundred of the fastest growing brands in the country. Some current and past clients include Herbivore Botanicals, Lemon Perfect Beverage, Freck Beauty, Final Mouse, Miyokos Creamery and The Beard Club.

What you will do:

You will work collaboratively with clients, CFO, Tax Director, Tax Manager and Accounting Department to provide comprehensive tax advisory and compliance services. Duties will include the following-

• Preparation of federal, international, and state income/franchise tax returns, estimates, and extensions
• Preparation of the R&D Tax Credit study and calculation, JE for reconciliation of this credit, communicate with the payroll team for offsetting the payroll tax liabilities
• Conduct tax planning for individual, corporate, partnership, estate, and trust tax clients

• Conduct basic to complex tax research

• Review federal, state, and local tax notices and draft responses for clients

Experience:

• 3+ years Income Tax Compliance experience and Bachelor’s degree in related field
• EA/CPA/MST preferred
• C Corp, S Corp, Partnership, Passthrough entities and complicated personal income tax return preparation experience
• Familiar with the Multi State Apportionment, Multi State Modification and International tax forms
• R&D Tax Credit experience
• CCH/Quick Books Accounting software/SharePoint and Advanced function of Excel
• Detailed oriented, well-organized, consistently meets deadlines in a fast pace dynamic work environment

Compensation:

Competitive base salary, bonus, 15 days PTO per year for your first 3 years & 20 days per year after 4 years, CPA eligible hours, advanced schooling flexibility, CPE/CLE eligible hours, plus extremely competitive benefits including health, dental, vision, 401k plus more.
