SOME, Inc. exists to help the homeless and poor of Washington, DC. With over 30 programs throughout the District of Columbia, we provide a wide spectrum of services to the most vulnerable individuals and families of our city. We strive to provide successful paths toward mental and physical health, continued sobriety, job training and employment with a living wage, affordable housing, and living independently and confidently.
SOME, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Tax Credit Specialist to support our Property Management department.
Position Description: The Tax credit Specialist’s primary function is to ensure all tax credit recertifications are completed within 120 days.
Qualifications:

Required: High School Diploma and 3-5 years of experience.
Preferred: Associates Degree – LIHTC- (Low Income Housing Tax Credit); Tax Credit Certification- If the applicant does not possess a certification, he/she is required to take and pass the exam within the first year of employment.
Required License/Certification: N/A
Schedule: Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and one (1) late day per week, from 12:00 p.m. to 8 p.m.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Excellent Customer Service.
- Knowledge of tax credit compliance and DCHA
- Knowledge of OneSite and Kwik Tag (electronic filing systems).
- Must be well organized and detailed orientated.
- Must be able to work well under pressure.
- Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Must be familiar with housing management. Low-income Housing Tax Credit Program and comply with fair housing laws.
- Self-Motivated
- Assist with applications- Ensure all application documents are complete and correct. Submit tax credit documents to Windsor, and complete required corrections
- Send reminder notices as needed
- Must be able to calculate income and assets in compliance with SOME and industry standards.
- Complete all Tax Credit recertifications in a timely manner.
- Able to work independently
