Snyk Looking for Senior Accountant at Boston, MA Full Time

We’re looking for a Senior Accountant to join our fast-growing finance team who will lead the global commission accounting process and support our ASC 606 revenue recognition and related accounting. The ideal candidate will be a versatile team player with a proven track record in accounting for a global technology company. The Senior Accountant will work closely with the accounting controllers to ensure the timely and accurate recording of commissions and also cross functionally with field finance and FP&A on supporting sales incentive programs, revenue recognition and related forecasting. They will have great attention to detail and be a critical part of the monthly close process.

The Senior Accountant role will have the opportunity to implement various process improvement initiatives related to revenue recognition and sales incentive accounting which help support our broader finance and corporate initiatives. As part of the Snyk team, you will demonstrate the core values of being easy to work with, ship it (bias for action), care deeply, and be one team while working with best-in-class development security intelligence.

You’ll spend your time:

• ensuring the accurate and timely recording of sales commissions and deferred commissions under U.S. GAAP
• performing ASC 606 revenue recognition analysis and related accounting and reporting for revenue, deferred revenue, and unbilled receivables
• supporting the close process around online marketplace transactions including revenue recognition, fee deferrals and related accruals
• leading process improvement initiatives around the commissions accounting cycle, working closely with the local controllers and field finance
• performing ad hoc partnering with field finance & sales operations on creating comp structures, quotas and maintain monthly commission reporting and forecasting
• being a key partner with internal and external stakeholders including our external auditors
• creating and maintain policies and controls around the commission accounting cycle, working with the controllers to ensure timely recording of all commissions entries within the close timeline
• being a key part of a public company readiness journey including SOX 404 compliance

You should apply if you have:

• bachelor’s degree in accounting
• 5+ years experience in accounting for a global technology company (SaaS preferred)
• thorough understanding of ASC 606 and general knowledge of US GAAP
• experience with commission accounting, related accruals, and deferred commissions
• experience with a top-tier ERP system (NetSuite preferred)
• are incredibly easy to work with and can build strong cross-team relationships even when conflicting interests exist
• have a bias for action, works iteratively towards bigger picture goal, and strives for continuous improvement
• are agile and enjoy the speed of a fast-paced, highly engaged environment

We’d especially love to hear from you if you:

• have a CPA license and/or master’s degree (accounting or finance)
• have accounting experience in a hyper-growth SaaS model
• have experience with NetSuite ARM, Xactly and/or Salesforce.com
• have created dashboards, KPIs and other management tools
• are a problem solver, you love to break problems into actionable tasks and bring to resolution
