SMP Industries Looking for Sr. Manufacturing Engineer at Chattanooga, TN Full Time

SMP Industries is seeking a Sr Manufacturing Engineer for its facility in Chattanooga, TN. The position will report to the Director of Engineering.

This role’s primary objective is to coordinate and execute the planning, control, and completion of SMP’s engineering projects based on client guidelines and project requirements. Primary functions of the role include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Plan, direct and coordinate activities of engineering projects to ensure all client goals and objectives are met and accomplished within a prescribed time frame as assigned by the Director of Engineering.
• Develop 3D models and create drawings & specifications using SolidWorks for prototypes as well as all production components and assemblies.
• Develop estimates and quotes utilizing standard Engineering and Manufacturing principles as required.
• Create Work Orders/ routers/ BOM’s/ Instruction Sheets as needed.

Qualifications and Specific Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
• Extensive experience in 3D CAD packages, specifically SolidWorks.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Solid understanding of Best Manufacturing Practices.
• Detail-oriented.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Capable of multi-tasking and managing multiple priorities.
• Must have strong project and time management skills.
• Thrive in a team environment
• Harris Data experience is a plus, but not required.
