Job Description:

This position is a key role within the Colebrook Aerospace factory leadership team. The Engineering Manager is responsible for all engineering activities within the factory as well as supporting the development of processes and employees within the department. The activities include process development, new product/process costing, new product/process implementation, standard workflow, manufacturing/capacity planning, continuous improvement, and application of lean management principles.

Job Responsibilities Include but Not Limited to:

• Maintain and improve manufacturing processes.
• Communicate and work to resolve issues through collaboration with internal and external customers.
• Satisfy production requirements by providing and maintaining process controls.
• Implement lean management principles to improve operational efficiencies.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of existing processes and procedures as necessary ensuring adherence to factory, group, and corporate policies.
• Develop and analyze data to support the factory manager and communicate findings across the organization.
• Responsible for efficient and cost-effective process control.
• Responsible for managing process quality through engineering processes.
• Work cross functionally to address quality performance issues.
• Responsible for managing all elements of the engineering value stream in meeting EHS Management System objectives.
• Coordinate maintenance activities to improve the factory’s efficiency and product output.
• Work with Group Purchasing, EHS, and other internal teams to procure investment capital/new equipment.
• Act as a primary contact for customer service and sales to serve as the customer’s voice within the factory as it relates to processes and productivity.
• Lead and manage all aspects of the ERP / MRP system relating to engineering through ownership of related BOM’s and routers.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring for personal development and success of the team in achieving organizational goals.

Job and Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, business management, or equivalent with a working knowledge of aerospace standards is preferred.
• AS9100 quality management experience with system implementation and strong project management skills are desirable.
• Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in engineering management are required
• Comprehensive communication skills in the English language both verbal and written.
• A thorough knowledge and experience with manufacturing audit techniques, process qualification, and production systems are required.
• Must be computer savvy with a high proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel, ERP systems (Infor / XA experience is a plus), and database reporting software (Power BI or similar).

Desired Skills and Attributes:

• Working knowledge of aerospace standards is preferred.
• NDT, automated inspection related experience is a plus.
• System transition/system implementation experience a plus.
• Strong project management skills are desirable.???????
• Must be able to effectively interact at all levels within the Company with strong interpersonal skills.
• Possess a high degree of foresight, objectivity, imagination, and analytical abilities.
