Sevan Multi-Site Solutions, Inc. Looking for Senior Civil Engineer at Philadelphia, PA Full Time

Summary: The Senior Civil Engineer is as a member of the engineering design team and works alongside a group of individuals to provide civil engineering services within a dedicated design team. A design professional, accountable for producing accurate design and construction documents for our multi-site clients and supporting other team members in achieving team goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following statements.

• Prepares complete, accurate and code compliant construction documents.
• Provides technical and creative design solutions that align with program intent.
• Perform civil engineering design calculations and prepare engineering reports.
• Responsible for determining the appropriate site features and their design application.
• Responsible for maintaining project schedules, deadlines and commitments for all projects.
• Coordinates work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives.
• Notifies supervisor of changes in project scope and advises if a change order proposal is needed.
• Possesses a working knowledge of engineering and building codes and ADA requirements.
• Conducts project due diligence with municipalities to determine local zoning, engineering, and building code requirements.
• Accountable for resolving plan review comments from code officials.
• Project liaison to code officials, outside consultants, suppliers, and contractors regarding questions to the construction documents.
• Oversees staff engineers, designers and/or CAD technicians
• Complete technical applications and secure permits.
• Review / evaluate others work and provide technical direction.
• Eligible for Designer of Record signing and sealing responsibilities, based on business need.
• Works with supervisor and peers to pursue professional development.
• Participates in the development and mentoring of more junior members of the team.
• Participates in NCEES with the ability to be licensed in multiple states
• Engages in personal and professional growth opportunities within Sevan.
• Accountable for timely completion of assigned projects.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently or with minimal supervision on complex and large-scope projects.
• Represent the company at client project meetings. Visits project sites to verify scope, exiting conditions and other related activities.
• Make public presentations as project representatives and owner’s representative.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education/Experience:

A Professional Engineer with a 4-year degree in Architecture, Engineering, or equivalent; 6 or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Comprehensive knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and advanced techniques. Expertise in drawings, specifications, and building materials. Capable to complete complicated and difficult engineering assignments on large, complex projects with minimal supervision. Ability to execute and coordinate multiple projects at a time. Experience in multi-site projects preferred.

Language Ability:

Read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Respond effectively to sensitive inquiries. Make persuasive presentations on complex topics and respond to questions from management, public groups, clients and/or customers. Highly organized with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Articulates complex ideas and positions in a clear and concise manner. Gather, organize, track and report project data.

Reasoning Ability:

Demonstrates leadership skills with ability and willingness to face challenges, solve problems, and motivate others, while maintaining effective relationships with customers by meeting or exceeding their requirements and expectations. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of AutoCAD (required), Civil 3D (preferred), Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Smartsheet.

Certificates and Licenses:

PE license required
