We are currently looking to add a Civil Engineering Project Designer to our team. The ideal candidate will have the following qualities:
4-year Engineering degree.
Minimum 2-3 years of civil engineering or site design experience.
Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Engineering in Training (EIT), or the ability to obtain is a plus.
Proficient with AutoCAD design software (AutoCAD Civil 3D required).
Knowledge of Rational Method storm water systems design and design and modeling software (AutoCAD Civil 3D Pipe Networks, Hydraflow, HydroCAD,etc.).
Knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam Revu software preferred.
Good written and verbal communication skills required.
Essential Duties Include:
Completion of initial design and preparation of preliminary drawings.
Organize, direct, and conduct preliminary review of the research and data necessary for the design of the project such as zoning conditions, municipality design standards, existing utility and drainage information, soils and wetlands reports, etc.
Review jurisdictional and client comments and make revisions as appropriate.
Completion of final design and preparation of the final project documents (bid documents) and required agency permitting.
Establish building finished floor elevations and develop site grading in compliance with local storm water ordinance(s) and in an effort to achieve earthwork balance.
Design and size sanitary sewer and storm sewer systems.
Design and model wet or dry detention ponds, underground detention systems, and water quality infrastructure in accordance with local ordinance requirements.
Produce and storm water/drainage reports for jurisdictional and agency reviews.
Assist as a contact for the client concerning the engineering aspects of the project.
Assistance with client meetings and project proposal preparation.
