HOW YOU WILL IMPACT OUR MISSION
The Walking Tour Guide performs all job assignments with a positive attitude that supports San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance’s mission and vision of saving species worldwide by uniting our expertise in wildlife care and conservation science with our dedication to inspiring passion for nature and leading the fight against extinction. The Walking Tour Guide under general supervision conducts informative, entertaining tours in accordance with specified guidelines. This position reports to the Safari Experiences Supervisor.
This class is distinguished from other guide classes in that it requires less depth of knowledge of the subject matter and is engaged in “walking tours” only.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Walking Tour Guide will work primarily in the Butterfly Jungle and Elephant Valley program areas, with the possibility of being trained to assist the Roar & Snore overnight camp program as well. Guides will share conservation stories to guests visiting the Safari Park on tours and in public spaces. Applicants must be comfortable working in close proximity to wildlife, including butterflies and birds, in addition to work in a diverse environment with guests from all backgrounds. Minimum availability for this role is 4 days, including both weekend days.
