Job Functions
– Communicating with vendors and government officials/employees
– Developing/Maintaining a strong working relationship with customers (import clients)
– Scanning, copying, emailing documentation
– Review shipping documentation for completeness and accuracy
– Prepare Customs Broker file
– Key all required information into ABI system for transmission to U.S. Customs
– Update system with electronic data received from U.S. Customs
– Key all required information to Entry Summary form for ultimate payment to U.S. Customs
– Set up entries for proper presentation to U.S. Customs
– Prepare delivery order, send to carrier, verify receipt
– Update import client and carriers on cargo release status with U.S. Customs
– Prepare entry packet and invoice to submit to import client
– Recordkeeping – organizing and storing documentation in accordance with U.S. Customs requirements
Job Skills
– Must possess superior customer service skills working with clients and vendors
– Must be able to resolve problems with minimum supervision
– Must be a proactive and anticipatory critical thinker
– Computer literate with basic programs
– Must be capable of multi-tasking between entry writing, dispatch, billing, tracking, and customer service
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
– Must be capable of comprehending U.S. Customs Regulations (Title 19 CFR) and the U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule
Job Requirements
– College degree
– 1 – 2 years experience in customer service desired
