Our enterprise client has an immediately permanent opening for an experience Senior Network Engineer.

Candidate will have their Bachelor’s degree and be willing to work in an hybrid work environment. Ability to craft multiple hardware solutions and experience with Solar Winds.

responsibilities:

The Senior Network Engineer / Network Engineer will be responsible for supporting the Network Infrastructure and related systems.

Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot intricate network and systems issues spanning all layers of network topology
• Assist with network-related user performance and connectivity issues
• Run network engineering projects that involve upgrading, replacing, or enhancing networking infrastructure.
• Take on SME (Subject Matter Expert) responsibilities for in-house technologies
• Communicate effectively with managers and peers within the Technology Operations, Server Group, Desktop Support, Information Security, and Audit groups
• Proactively recommend projects and novel solutions based on monitoring, prior expertise, and hardware knowledge.
• Occasional travel to corporate, regional offices, and data centers as required

Requirements & Desired Skills:

• A team player with an exceptional work ethic
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology-related field preferred or advanced level networking certification.
• Initiative-taking self-learner with the ability to become a subject matter expert in new technologies
• Practical knowledge of TCP/IP packet analysis with Wireshark or other tools
• Next Generation Firewall experience (Palo Alto, Fortinet, SonicWall)
• Firsthand experience troubleshooting and configuring, and supporting routers, including working with one or more dynamic routing protocols, E.G., OSPF, EIGRP, BGP
• Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewalls, routers, and switches. (Cisco, Arista)
• Implement and maintain Enterprise Network Management and monitoring tools ( SolarWinds, Ansible)
• A self-starter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment.
• Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources.
• The ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems.
• Exposure or experience with Network Load Balancing – E.G., F5, AVI, NetScaler, or other ADC
• Experience with SD-WAN technologies is a plus.
• Demonstrate ability to analyze and solve complex technical problems with attention to detail.
• Flexibility with weekend and evening hours required for scheduled upgrades and non-scheduled off-hours support
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure, business-critical situations (24/7)
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Dependable and flexible when necessary.
• Enterprise Network Experience is a plus
