Great client is looking to bring on a direct hire Chief Engineer. As the chief engineer you are responsible for coordinating the efforts of Operations, Maintenance, and Third Party Vendors to ensure the successful operation of all Commercial Real Estate managed properties. This position includes the supervision of building engineers, management of day to day maintenance, management of long term projects, and coordination of all resource expenditures. Candidate must have their CFC certification, commercial office space and HVAC experience.

responsibilities:

Essential Responsibilities

• Oversee team of building engineers, assigning work among engineering staff according to specialized training to ensure all maintenance requests are met and service projects are completed in an efficient fashion.
• Develop, plan, and coordinate service projects to preempt maintenance issues. Directs engineering personnel in formulating plans, designs, and cost estimates for all service projects.
• Ensure that all policies, procedures, protocols and controls that govern operations are followed.
• Coordinate with senior management on long term service projects addressing any concerns regarding allocation of employees, funds, materials, equipment or other resources outside of the normal day to day operations.
• Evaluates engineering solutions for cost effectiveness.
• Oversee the preparation of reports, including statistical and data analysis reports, for all engineering processes to evaluate the efficiency of engineers.

Qualifications and Requirements

Basic Qualifications

• 5-7 years experience
• Accreditation from an approved technical or vocational school
• Universal CFC certification
• Technical experience in all aspects of building engineering with a strong background in technical aspects of HVAC, plumbing, electrical equipment, repair and maintenance and overall system design and application
• Ability to read and utilize blueprints, schematics, and control diagrams a plus
• Experience with Class ‘A’ high rise building a plus
• Management experience with demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate work of a skilled engineering team with management objectives

Basic Requirements

• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must maintain a valid drivers license

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite a plus
• Solid math and analytical skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
