GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Be able to read, speak, and understand English.
2. Have a general knowledge of all safety work rules and practices.
3. Must have understanding of the hazards of explosives materials.
4. Must be able to receive clearance from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE).
5. Must be able to operate forklift, power mower, power hedge trimmers, weed eaters and tractor with mower and loader attachments effectively and safely.
6. Must possess valid driver’s license and vehicle.
7. Must be able to maintain assigned grounds in neat and orderly fashion by using powered landscaping or snow removal equipment and hand tools as needed.
8. Have the ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
9. Have the ability to communicate effectively with fellow associates and management personnel.
10. Have general knowledge of OSHA regulations especially in regard to Lockout/Tagout and machine guarding.
11. Have basic carpentry skills.
12. Have basic and industrial plumbing experience.
13. Must be able to learn programmable equipment.
14. Must be able to safely climb and use step and extension ladders.
15. Must have basic computer experience (i.e., Word, Excel, etc.)
16. Must establish and maintain a clean, organized workshop.
17. Must be able to report to work on weekends, day or night, during inclement weather events.
18. Must be willing to work any shift and do weekend repairs as required.
19. Must have telephone and be available to answer for phone assistance and call-in, as needed.
20. Be able to work overtime as required.
JOB DUTIES:
1. Must be committed to ISO and the company’s Quality Management System using process approach and risk based thinking methodologies.
2. Shares responsibility for the effectiveness of the Quality Management System.
3. Maintain grounds, storage buildings, test sites, paths, and roadways according to weather and facility’s maintenance schedule per assignment list provided by Manager.
4. Responsible for communicating with Manager, or designee, if leaving assigned area so that proper notification can be made in the case of an emergency.
5. In appropriate season cuts grass, weed eats, trims and cuts trees and removes leaves using company provided power and hand tools.
6. Conduct litter patrol in assigned areas, remove and dispose of trash.
7. Fill in pot holes in asphalt roadways and walkways.
8. In winter months, using tractor or shovel remove snow and ice to clear sidewalks, roadways, loading docks, doorways, fire hydrants, and storm drains as directed by Manager or designee.
9. Check and fill salt tubs before and after snow and ice events.
10. Notify Manager of supplies needed on a weekly basis.
11. If company vehicle not available, must be able to use personal vehicle for performance of duties.
12. Perform minor maintenance, lubrication, and cleaning to assigned power equipment. Refer problems of a more serious nature to a Manager for scheduling necessary repairs.
13. Perform building maintenance including painting and roof repairs.
14. Install, inspect, test, dismantle, and make mechanical and electrical repairs to all types of equipment and auxiliary mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
15. Must be able to troubleshoot problems in automated manufacturing cells and get damaged equipment functional.
16. Perform established preventive maintenance on equipment and complete necessary documentation.
17. Receive general oral and written instructions including simple sketches, blueprints, and drawings from Facility Manager.
18. Use standard mechanics tools and a variety of hand tools to make machine adjustments and/or repairs.
19. Determine parts needed and makes necessary approved purchases.
20. Perform HVAC and dehumidification repairs as needed.
21. Perform all other duties as directed by Facility Manager which may include assisting in other departments as needed to meet customer specific deadlines.
22. Obey all company work and safety rules.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must be able to lift, push, and pull 50 – 75 lbs. on a continuous basis, unassisted.
2. Must be able to lift more than 75 lbs., with assistance.
3. Must be able to stand, bend, walk, and move about the plant facilities throughout an 8–12-hour period.
4. Must be able to work on higher elevations via-man-lifts or ladders.
5. Must be willing and able to work outdoors as required
