Purpose:

Assure PCC Carson City’s Quality systems and procedures satisfy government and customer requirements, and assure compliance of product shipped to contractual requirements. Manage PCC Carson City’s quality team to ensure active process controls are in place, effective, and improved to support customer needs.

Essential Job Functions:

• Main point of contact with customers, regulatory, and government agencies on all quality related issues, and audits.
• Control and approve internal procedures.
• Internal auditing of PCC Carson City operations to ensure compliance to established procedures.
• Responsible for the audit and approval of subcontractors.
• Manage personnel responsible for quality planning, release of product and raw material, and the final certification of product.
• Manage the Level III NDT Examiners responsible for personnel qualification, special process certifications, procedure generation, and audits.
• Function as the Management Representative as required by ISO-9001 and AS9100.
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with NADCAP, ISO/IEC17025 requirements.
• Manage personnel performing source inspection, audit, and release of product from subcontract suppliers.
• Maintain and update the Quality Manual.
• Manage cost of quality items and actions such as: rework, warranty, and scrap.
• Review and approval of subcontract requisitions.
• Quality on new programs, which leads to new forgings qualified by customer, which creates increased sales.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Qualifications:

• BS minimum, MS, or 5-10 years of experience in quality leadership role.
• Experience working in ISO9001 and AS9100 businesses.
• Knowledge or experience required in the following areas: Melting Processes, Metallurgy, NDT Testing, Material Testing, Heat Treatment and furnace qualification requirements, Blue Print and Specification interpretation, SPC, Machining processes, Customer specifications and requirements, Calibration requirements, and continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of Computer Systems (NDT, Syteline, CAD/CAM)
• Good PC skills and ability to program and maintain Quality Databases (ACCESS)
• US Citizenship or Perm Residency is required due to government military contracts.
