PerkinElmer Looking for Intern – Bioassay at San Diego, CA  Full Time

BioLegend’s Summer Internship Program is a 10-12-week experience intended to offer aspiring biotech professionals a meaningful, comprehensive understanding of the biotechnology industry sector at one of the world’s leading producers of antibodies and reagent content development.

The program will run June 20-September 6th (depending on individual’s University Academic Calendar)

This internship will be an on-site role at BioLegend Inc., in San Diego, CA. All selected interns will be required to obtain their own housing, travel, and transportation accommodations for the full duration of the internship program.

Internship Summary

This internship for the Bioassay team offers the opportunity to participate in the development and contribution to the optimization and validation of new bioassays. This position offers a significant opportunity for learning product development and career growth in the biotechnology industry.

Development opportunities to build your resume:

• Develop new bioassay
• Contribute to optimization and validation of new bioassays
• Performing a range of biochemical, chemical, and microbiological analyses.
• Performing microbiology tasks under sterile conditions.
• Identify and help with solving operations problems
• Reporting scientific and technical data
• Perform bioassays following established protocol
• Maintain cell lines using sterile cell culture technique. Isolate primary cells
• Perform data analysis and keep good records and documentation

Minimum Qualifications – Education and Experience

• Currently enrolled or in process of completing a BS/BA degree in life sciences related program
• Previous cell culture experience preferred
• Previous ELISA experience preferred

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work at BioLegend in San Diego, California is $ 21 to $24 (hourly). The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to: the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. BioLegend is a multi-state employer and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a laboratory environment with occasional data entry on a computer. Occasional exposure to a warehouse environment.
