Charter School Teachers are responsible for the daily instructional delivery of curriculum, assessment, and classroom management that aligns with the schools vision, mission, and values while also meeting state and national academic standards. The role will be responsible to understand and demonstrate the importance of effective communication with students, school personnel, and parents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement the School curriculum for assigned grade levels and subjects
• Grade essays, research papers, and open-ended response items while providing feedback to students
• Identify and select appropriate instructional materials aligned to content standards
• Implement relevant information from research and professional literature on best practices in instruction
• Demonstrate knowledge of state standards, testing requirements, and graduation requirements within the core content
• Analyze formal and informal data and accurately complete student data assessment analysis and provide informative reports regarding student instruction and achievement
• Develop short term and annual goals, based on identified student needs, that reflects national school counseling standards and state program components related to guidance curriculum, individual student planning, responsive services, and system support
• Other duties as deemed necessary by the Program Director

Skills and Knowledge:

• Ability to demonstrate and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and building principal
• Experienced in collaborating with teacher teams and adapting work to the needs of teachers and students
• Knowledge and demonstration of using innovative skills in instruction (analytical thinking, problem solving, communicating, collaborating, and finding and evaluating information)
• Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to utilize technology for communication and instruction* to work with parents, students, and other service agencies*
• Demonstrate organizational skills and initiative for working with minimal direct supervision while prioritizing workload
• Evidence of ongoing professional learning and reflective practice to continuously improve student and adult learning
• A working knowledge of current research and resources in instruction
• Knowledge and experience using technology for communication, data analysis, gathering and organizing information for presentations
• Maintain confidentiality

Qualifications: *

• Applicable Florida Teacher Certification or endorsement
• Temporary certificate or statement of eligibility may be acceptable
• Out of state certifications seeking FLDOE approval may be acceptable
• Bachelors Degree required
• Prior teaching experience in the classroom preferred
• Must be able to work flexible hours to meet the needs of students
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
• Experience working with at-risk student population in some capacity preferred
