Osborn Consulting, Inc. Looking for Engineer in Training at Bellevue, WA Full Time

We’re looking for an Engineer-in-Training to join our Transportation Drainage Practice supporting transportation projects across the state. This Practice is a creative team working on large, multi-disciplinary teams with many moving pieces that require attention to detail and coordination.

About You

Our ideal candidate is a strong communicator with a passion for water resources civil engineering. They’re hungry to learn and don’t shy away from sharing their ideas or asking questions.

To thrive in this position, you have the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field required.
• Hold an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or be able to obtain within six months.

• 2-5 years of experience in design, planning, and implementation of civil design projects with (bonus points for project management experience).
• Principles and practices of project design and design development through the use of computer aided design software; AutoCAD Civil3D, MGSFlood, WWHM, MicroStation, InRoads, SWMM, HEC-RAS, etc.
• Active participation in industry organizations such as APWA, WTS, SWE, NSBE, ACEC, ASCE, etc.

It would be great, but not required, to have these additional qualifications:

• Knowledge and understanding of state and local Stormwater, wastewater, and/or surface water industry rules and regulations.
• Interest or experience designing WSDOT projects

About the Position

In this role, you’ll work with a highly collaborative team of engineers and civil technicians to:

• Prepare and review technical memoranda, reports, drawings, specifications, and miscellaneous contract documents and deliverables.
• Provide quality engineering reports, calculations, basic illustrations, and design drawings.
• Conduct site visits and provide data analysis as needed.
• Provide design solutions for projects within budget and time schedules, ensuring compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, and client and OCI standards.
• Develop plans, specifications, and engineer estimates.

• Work with field and GIS staff to compile existing condition to support design progression.

This position can be based out of our Bellevue or Seattle offices.
