The Surgery Scheduler role requires the ability to work with clients, patients, and staff. Strong verbal and written communication skills are needed. A client and patient service focused attitude is also needed. Administrative and organizational skills are required, as well as the ability to balance multiple priorities.

You will be presented with multiple competing tasks, and no day will be the same. You will be required to bring ideas to the table and execute successfully at a rapid pace.

Responsibilities:

• Communicate via email and phone with client office staff to obtain information and coordinate scheduling.

• Communicate via phone with patients to obtain information and explain our services.

• Review patient data in the medical record system.

• Determine if patients have appropriate insurance coverage and health history for surgery.

• Utilize spreadsheets to track data and enter patient information

• Interact with patients and client offices by phone to gather information for case days

• Provide best in class service to client offices, patients, our medical providers, and our team

• Quickly and professionally react to unexpected challenges to ensure an environment of safety is maintained and the patient and surgery schedule impact is minimized

• Assist with other projects as they arise

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

• Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, with a professional demeanor and a positive, friendly, can-do attitude

• Comfortable speaking with MDs, RNs, and healthcare office staff

• Comfortable speaking with patients and has a customer service oriented mindset.

• Handles sensitive patient information with good judgment

• Manages and maintains calendars–identify schedule conflicts and take appropriate action

• Must possess excellent written & verbal communication skills

• Motivated self-starter with strong attention to detail

• Ability to prioritize and anticipate needs of the team

• Ability to work independently

• Must be able to handle a variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion

• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

• Excellent ability with Microsoft

• Ability to be flexible and manage unexpected situations by being proactive and imaginative

• Innovative thinker with strong problem-solving skills

Education Requirements:

• High school diploma required

• College degree preferred
