Odyssey Systems has an exciting new opportunity for a Software Engineer (Datalinks), Senior position supporting the Special Warfare Branch. The Battlefield Airmen (BA) Modernization Program was initiated as a Secretary of the Air Force (SECAF) directed effort to provide increased combat capability to the following Air Force career fields: combat control, combat rescue officer, battlefield weather, pararescue, special tactics officer, special operations weather, and tactical air control personnel with the following specialized capabilities: reconnaissance and surveillance, weather operations, airfield surveys and assessments, effects assessments, navigation and positioning, command and control battle management, air traffic control and assault zone marking, terminal attack control, time-sensitive weaponeering/targeting, personnel recovery (combat search and rescue and isolated personnel repatriation), field trauma care, information operations, and operational preparation of the battlespace. To ensure BA equipment/systems meet battlefield requirements for all specified career fields, the Special Warfare Branch was created to standardize and modernize equipment.
Duties include, but not limited to:
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering and a Master’s Degree in an engineering field (EE preferred)
Greater than twelve (12) years of engineering experience in a relevant functional area with a minimum of six (6) of those years working in the specialty task areas of systems, flight systems, avionics, software or test for the DoD.
Must be a US citizen
Must have a Secret
Preferred Qualifications:
Engineering Bachelor’s Degree requirements are preferred to be from an American Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited institution.
