A premier comprehensive community college, Oakton is 17 miles from downtown Chicago. Oakton serves the near northern suburbs of Chicago with campuses in Des Plaines and Skokie with buildings totaling over 700,000 square feet of space resting on 192 acres. These campuses serve almost 10,000 students annually that are enrolled in over 82,000 credit hours of instruction. The College’s Operating Funds’ budget (Education and Operations & Maintenance Funds) for the academic year ending on June 30, 2022 amounts to $76.7 million. Job Description:
Basic Function and Responsibility:
The Dean of Liberal Arts is responsible for the general oversight, strategic vision, and tactical implementation of activities and deliverables in the Liberal Arts division. Working collaboratively with other academic deans, the Dean of Liberal Arts ensures alignment and broad implementation of the college’s mission, vision, and values. The dean directly supervises and evaluates the division’s academic chairs and faculty members, and provides administrative leadership for division office staff.

Light lifting up to 10 lbs. and light carrying up to 10 lbs. Ability to reach above shoulder. Periods of time spent sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending and stooping. Mobility to move from building to building on-Campus and to visit off-Campus entities. Work is performed in a general office environment.

Supervision Exercised:
Administrative supervision is exercised over all academic department chairs and faculty, as well as office staff.
SALARY: Low: $104,975; Midpoint: $139,203; High: $178,613
Based on the needs of the college and with Administrator approval, some positions at the college may have remote or hybrid schedule options available. Please note, that during the 65 working day probationary period, employees are required to report to campus.
