The Director of Provider Recruitment for UVA Health will report to the Chief Strategy Officer for UVA Health, with a dotted line to the Chief of Diversity and Community Engagement Officer. They will collaborate closely with the senior leadership team, including with the UVA Community Health team, internal clinical managers, academic department chairs, and the office of the School of Medicine Dean. This is a newly created, strategically important role, and as such the Director of Provider Recruitment will collaborate across UVA Health to develop and lead the physician recruitment strategy and framework, enabling UVA Health to attract, engage, evaluate, hire, promote, and retain the exceptional talent needed to deliver excellent patient care and to drive UVA Health’s strategic initiatives. The Director of Provider Recruitment will oversee and support provider recruitment for the entire health system. Attention to differences in recruiting different specialties – and the important differences in community health recruitment and academic appointments – will be vital. Developing the framework to support the efforts of academic departmental chairs and the broad enterprise will involve multi-faceted planning and consultative orientation. Advising on the strategic onboarding of new hires as part of a continuum of the hiring process will be an important component of this role.

Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree, required.
- Experience: 4 Years experience, preferred.
- Additional Skills/Requirements (preferred): The Director of Provider Recruitment must be strategic, analytical, creative, and collaborative with an experienced leadership profile. They will demonstrate the ability to get things done while working effectively across a complex institution. The Physician Recruiter must be a big-picture thinker who understands how to translate vision to action, and is goal-driven, systems-oriented, data-focused, comfortable with ambiguity, and willing to embrace and lead change while maintaining focus on UVA Health’s mission and the people at the heart of it all.
